Martin Luther King School is a lay private comprehensive institution located in Kumba, South-West Region of Cameroon. The School was founded on an ideology, encompassing divinity, freedom, equity and a forge towards excellence. That is why our main aim is to produce honest, decent, hardworking, focused and responsible youths who will contribute to the workforce of nations and make the world a better place.
Like the late Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, we believe and teach Non Violence as the best ways of solving problems and bring universal peace. We provide broad based education which will influence the moral behavior of students, and also help them develop academic, manual and artistic skills, which will be useful in facing the world of employment and academic excellence. In this fast world of information technology, we are not left out as we have enough computers to aid the teaching and learning process. Martin Luther King School complex is one of the leading lay private Institutions in our country, known for boasting it’s students social mobility and career aspirations.
Inclusive education is top on our agenda, through a big challenge. It was sad to find out during interview into the secondary school that, most of students from public schools could not read. As a result, a program was put into place to cater for handicaps which most of them overcame by the end of the second year. Two of the special needs (SN) as we call them had outstanding results at the G.C.E 2016 (passed in ten papers with 14 points). Teaching is personalized to meet the individual needs of the learners. Generally there is improvement in the general output every year, Glory to God.
